I've done this before but I've decided to go back to it. Most of my journal is fandom talk but there is maybe 25% of real life stuff that I'd like to save for friends only. I have a couple of fanmixes I should be uploading and posting, but I've got to finish the drabbles that go with them first. Heh. Heh. Heh. Anywho, take a peak below. :P

As of Thursday, I will be working in Landcomms and giving them the time and effort they deserve! I'll have several weeks where days'll pass by and nothing to do, so expect a lot of updates and if you're so inclined, keep watch on marysxchaos.

YAY! Another scene finished. I'm currently at 2657 words! I've also got some betas - Roz (kermitfries00) as always will be doing the basics while Cally (eldestmuse) will be handling character corrections. Which is awesome because I'm having trouble keeping Eric in character - or even knowing if he is in character. Anyway, sample below!

I've discovered a new method of productive writing via this fic. Recently I've put together a binder where I can write my first drafts for fanfic. I write original fic as well, but atm I'm experimenting with some new methods I learned at a recent writers convention. Usually, when I write fanfiction of any kind, my brain makes me stop every ten words to find that perfect language but the only way to write productively is to get the basic actions and reactions down first, and prettify it later. I've found that if I find a themesong for the story, blast it almost loud enough that I can't think, I'm able to get the gist of the scene down. Then, when I type it up, I clarify the actions, extend scenes and dialogues and work the language so that it fits my vision of "good writing".

So as many of you know, I've undertaken another big bang. This time I'm doing two stories - though I'm leaning towards one more than the other - and venturing into a new fandom. True Blood! This is a straight, non-crossover AU of True Blood that features Vampire Tara and all that entails. It's really hard to write her as a POV character because she is a lot more aggressive than my style is used to. I have to use more agressive words and language than I normally would. Its interesting and fun and I'm really excited to be working with entirely new characters! I've also got some awesome scenes planned out with some side scenes that play with Lafayette and Jason's friendship. This is also season three, before that whole... goddess woman thing happened so I don't have to mess with the fuckery that is Mayraid or whatever her name was.

A/N, I tried really hard to stay away from "tears" because most vamp fics use this description in some way.

Second, I have two plots in mind for this. I'll be writing both stories either way, but I thought I'd ask you guys would be more interested in reading as a novella length fic.

Plot #1 is a crossover between The Vampire Diaries and Once Upon a Time. It would take place in season one of TVD and pre-curse for Once Upon a Time. Basically, Caroline, Damon and Jeremy are whisked away to fairytale world. The three must put aside their differences and find a way home before time runs out or be trapped forever.

Plot #2 is a True Blood fic playing on an AU where Tara is turned by Franklin and all the consequences thereafter. It would be my first True Blood fic and an entirely different muse than what I'm used to.
